Mark Branca and Taylor Sanders founded this firm with a singular focus: providing the most aggressive, knowledgeable criminal defense available in Northern Virginia. Both are deeply rooted in this community and dedicated to their clients.
Mark was born and raised in Manassas, Virginia. Mark specializes in representing clients in complex criminal and traffic matters. In addition to criminal and traffic defense, Mark represents clients in a wide variety of cases including civil litigation, landlord-tenant, expungements, and protective orders.
Mark is very active in the Prince William County legal community. Mark has previously served as the President of the Prince William County Bar Association (PWCBA), as a Director of the PWCBA, as co-chair of the Young Lawyer's Section, and as co-chair of the Mentorship and Mentoring Committee for the PWCBA. Along with his law partner Taylor, he currently serves as the chair of the Prince William County General District Court Subcommittee where he helps develop policies and procedures for the practice of law in the General District Court. Because of his volunteer work, Mark was recognized as the PWCBA's Pro Bono Attorney of the Year in 2020.
Prior to founding Branca and Sanders, PLLC with his partner Taylor, Mark worked as a Senior Associate Attorney at the Irving Law Firm. He also served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Tracy C. Hudson during his two-year term as Chief Judge of the Prince William County Circuit Court.
Mark graduated cum laude from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond. During his time at Richmond Law, Mark was an active member of the moot court team and regularly volunteered at the school's family law clinic, which provided pro bono services to indigent clients in Richmond. Because of his work at the family law clinic, Mark received the Virginia State Bar Family Law Book Award by the Family Law Section of the Virginia State Bar and the Virginia Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers at his graduation ceremony. This award is given to the top graduating student from each of the eight Virginia law schools who has demonstrated the most promise and potential for the practice of family law.
Mark is passionate about defending clients charged with serious criminal and traffic matters in Prince William County. When Mark isn't practicing law, he is spending time with his wife Kelly and dogs Sandy and Lola.
